Toyota Hatch Updated for 2021

Since its launch in 2019 the Auris, the Corolla Hatch has nipping at the VW Golf’s heels and slowly worming its way in the hearts and pockets of South Africans. Having somewhat become the distant relative, forgotten but not wholly gone, it’s time for some key updates to keep it fresh and remind buyers of the offering that the Japanese hatch offers.

2021 Toyota Hatch: What’s new?

The vehicle remains mostly unchanged, with the significant differences being to the exterior styling and some slight specification updates. The most notable changes are the XR variant, which gains new 18-inch alloy wheels that create a sportier look and aid in the vehicle’s driving characteristic. The XR will now get a space-saver spare wheel with the rest of the range keeping their 16-inch full-sized spare. The latest generation in Connectivity is now standard, with the entire range featuring Andriod Auto, Carplay and Toyota Connect internet WIFI connectivity. The addition of two new paint options, namely Graphite Grey and Caribbean Blue has been added to the colour spectrum, with the Fierce Red replacing Scarlet Metallic red. All colours are contrasted with a Bi-Tone gloss black roof and is particularly tasty in the new Platinum Pearl White metallic paint.

2021 Toyota Hatch Safety Updates 

For the New year, the addition of (TSS) Toyota Safety Sense 2, Is key to the Corolla Hatch’s safety revisions. RCTA-Rear Cross Traffic Alert joins the likes of Lane Keep Assist, Radar GuidedAdaptive Cruise Control, Brake Assist and the 5-Star Ncap Crash rating.

2021 Toyota Hatch Pricing  

The model range will retain the 1.2Litre turbocharged Petrol engine producing 85kW of power and 185Nm of torque. The Corolla Hatch can be had with either a six-speed manual transmission or ten-speed Shift CVT. Prices Start at R369 100 and Climb to R435 900 for the top-spec XR Bi-Tone.
