The luxury of space with the Honda CR-V
Travelling is great! Kids are great! But combining these two things that bring me so much joy can occasionally become a nightmare.
When a child comes along, any travel related plan will change and become significantly more intricate than before. Slapping a few items of clothing into an overnight bag becomes a process of departing with four full suitcases comprising every conceivable emergency item within, and a whole range of toys and teddy bears too.
Tasks as mundane as jumping into the driver’s seat and clipping the seatbelt into its holster becomes a more laborious task of ensuring any vehicle my family gets into has Isofix anchorage for a child seat.
These are the inherent responsibilities that come with parenthood. Gone are those carefree and simple days, but every now and then, life is made easier when you get into a car that has got you covered! The flagship Honda SUV, the CR-V is that car for us. With every imaginable interior amenity to keep us all entertained on our travels and sufficient charging ports for Raul to keep his Candy Crush streak on his iPad going, the kilometres of open road keep on coming without notice.
Compliments of all round independent-suspension and 522l of boot space, it proved to be comfortable on any road surface and also capable of comfortably hauling all of Bianca’s and my luggage too. Having the luxury of space (which the CR-V has an abundance of) when a child is around trumps many other gadgets and in-car features.
Naturally, the abundance of interior space makes for sizable exterior dimensions which the 1.5 litre turbocharged VTEC can comfortably lug around. The ample ratings of 140kW and 240Nm when paired to the CVT provide a linear and comfortable power delivery which gets the premium SUV up to speed as quickly as you’d want your family to go.
