Facelift Navara Gets some extra Macho flair

Nissan Have taken the wraps off the new updated Navara, adopting a more butch and aggressive exterior outlook and some tech updates to the cabin. Primarily as a means to keep the Navara in line with the likes of the VW Amarok, Toyota Hilux and Ford Ranger, all of with outsell the Navara in the competitive Luxury Bakkie Category, even with the softer Coil sprung rear end.

2021 Nissan Navara: Whats New? 

For the facelifted model the styling has undergone a massively Nissan Titan inspired look. Hard squared-off angles and sharp lines completely transformed the vehicle’s face, making it entirely different from the Navara D60’s softer feel. At the rear the tailgate has been updated with some NAVARA Dimple die-cut impressions, body-coloured rear bumper and C-shaped LED Taillights.

2021 Nissan Navara PRO-4X

Much like any successful leisure bakkie the need for a more exclusive trim level that separates the mid-level managers from the executive board has necessitated the PRO-4X variation, as a Ranger WildTrack and Hilux RS rival. Visual enhancements come in the form of a Black grille, door handles and badging with Magama red Nissan emblem, and accents on the mirror caps and grille. The front bumper is also enhanced and has further demarcations to denote this is note the run of the mil Navara. Running Boards, 17-inch alloy wheels with all beefy all-terrain tyres complete the Titian inspired look.

2021 Nissan Navara: Interior 

Internally the Major changes are kept to a minimum. The new style Nissan Steering Wheel is the significant change, with the Nissan Connect 8-inch infotainment screen with Apple Carplay, Bluetooth, Voice recognition and navigation. A new 7-inch TFT drivers display handles driver information. The Rear seats offer more bolstering and comfort for passengers, through upgrades to the set cushions and backrests and now feature an armrest with built-in cup holders. The availability of Multiple USB C charging ports through the cabin means the vehicle can support typical smartphone integration and multiple device charging

2021 Nissan Navara: Engines 

The engine line up will remain the same, powered by the 2.3Litre Turbo Diesel engine offering 140kWs and 450Nm, linked to a six-speed manual or seven-speed automatic transmission. A more price orientated single turbo 120kW variant of the same engine will join the line up in 2021 with the single cab finally reaching South African shores powered by a petrol engine that Nissan SA has yet to confirm.

2021 Nissan Navara: Technology and Specifications

New additions to the vehicles safety compliment help the manufacturers claim a return to “best-in-class ” technology via improved Nissan Intelligent Mobility, which means that the Bakkies gains Foward Collision Warning, Intelligent Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist and Blind Spot Monitoring. Blind Spot Monitoring and full 360-Degree Camera completes the safety additions.

2021 Nissan Navara in South Africa 

No details on the exact launch date have been given for South Africa, but the PRO-4X trim will be available to all markets and finished in Metalic Grey, Light Grey with leather or fabric interior trim. A total of eight exterior colours will be available with the addition of a new Orange Brown and Metalic Grey for the PRO-4X.
